Emma Davis

Emma Davis is a 24-year-old soprano from Des Moines, IA. She graduated in 2023 from the University of Northwestern in St. Paul, Minnesota with degrees in Vocal Performance, Music Composition, and Media Production – Film.

Emma has been awarded prizes at various competitions and festivals including first place in Thursday Musical’s 2021 Vocal College Division, first place in Thursday Musical’s 2022 Advanced College Vocal Division, and first place in Schubert Club’s 2022 Level I Vocal Division. In Spring 2022 she won UNW’s Concerto Aria competition and had the opportunity to perform her winning aria with the university’s orchestra. Most recently, Emma won first place in the Graduate Division for Minnesota NATS 2023.

Emma has performed in various musical productions including Bright Star as Mama Murphy and The Marvelous Wonderettes as Missy. In 2021, she was featured in UNW’s opera production entitled “Mozart Miniatures: A Scenes Program” where she performed scenes from Le nozze di Figaro and The Magic Flute as the Countess and Pamina. In addition to her studies in opera, she has also been coached in musical theater by Broadway’s Karen Burthwright and Coco Cohn. Coming in February of 2025, Emma will be the featured soprano soloist for the Brahms German Requiem in collaboration with the Two Rivers Chorale, the Edina Chorale, and the Wayzata Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Hannah Schendel.

Her future goals are to pursue a master’s degree in Vocal Performance and Composition, compete nationally, and perform in various opera productions, concert works, and recitals. She hopes and eventually obtain a professorial position at a school in the United States.
